All 11 of our rooms are alike- spacious, containing 2 double beds, and indoor and outdoor bathrooms. The name Anabezi is derived from the camp being situated on the Zambezi River and the many Ana Trees or Winter Thorns (Faidherbia albida) that abundantly surround the camp. These winter thorns drop corn yellow pods which attract a wide variety of animals to the area including many elephants, a welcome sight in the camp.

Overlooking the Mushika River flood plain and the mighty Zambezi River, the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the game viewing deck will give you a panoramic view. In addition to the usual amenities, there are swimming pools offset from the viewing decks of Anabezi and Little Anabezi for guests to cool off, lounge and relax. Our fire boma at Anabezi and fire-pit area at Little Anabezi offer a warm end to the day where we appreciate the sounds of the wild and gaze at the stars of the African night sky, a guest favourite.

Activities:

Anabezi is rapidly becoming one of Africa's great destinations for leopards. Leopards are frequently seen around the camp and the abundance of leopards in this part of the park is thought to be one of the highest in the world. Guests commonly have mutiple sightings during a single game drive, with the highest recorded being 5 different individuals in a single outing. The area around Anabezi is dominated by a large male that has been called "Cheetah", due to his formidable size. He is often seen on the Mushika plain in the early evening, much to the distress of the resident impala who often give his presence away with an alarm call.

Elephants are a common site in the Lower Zambezi, what makes Anabezi special is the share volume and the interaction they have with the area. As previously mentioned, the camp’s location owes it’s popularity to the yellow corn pods which drop fortuitously from the surrounding Ana Trees. This brings a myriad of animals to the camp during August who come and forage the protein rich pods, a favourite for Elephants. Elephants can occasionally be seen graciously leaning onto their back legs to reach a branch rich with Albida pods - much like our logo! Many of them have been coming to Anabezi every year at the same time for most of their lives, and as a result Anabezi has become aquainted with a few characters. The best known is "Willy", a single tusker with apparently few boundries and an incredibly calm demeanor!
