Day 1: Gauteng & Kruger Park

We depart from Johannesburg between 06h30 & 08h00 to allow for various collection points. Our route takes us through the wide open spaces of the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld area. We stop for lunch en-route (own expense) and reach the Kruger National Park and Skukuza Rest Camp in the afternoon.

After settling in to our accommodations, we head out on our first game drive! We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4x4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point. On our return, we have some time to visit the Park´s shop, go for a walk & just familiarizing ourselves with our surroundings.

Dinner is a two course meal, served al fresco at our private camp. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop. Dinner included

Day 2 & 3: Full day in the Park

Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (the time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink!) We then set off on the morning safari which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings!

On returning to Skukuza, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, visit the Skukuza museum, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks, take a walk around the camp, or simply relax at the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, which overlooks the Sabie River. Skukuza is also a bird watcher's paradise! Be sure to bring along your binoculars!

All our safaris include a SAN PARKS sunset drive. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park´s vehicles with a Park's ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.) A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the Parks rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times.

On the day that you do not have the Sunset drive, we will head out in our own open game drive vehicle. By now you will already have seen quite a lot and we will go in search of the ones that have eluded us thus far!

We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
Breakfast and Dinner included

Day 4: Kruger & Panorama Route & Gauteng

This morning we sadly have to leave the Park. We still have one more chance for game viewing from our closed, air conditioned tour vehicle as we leave the park. The drive out of the park should take around 1½to 2 hours.

The final highlight of our safaris is exploring the renowned Panorama Route! Attractions visited include the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Waterfalls and Pilgrims Rest. We stop en-route for lunch (own expense).

The drive back to Johannesburg takes at least 6 hours and guests are advised to sleep over in Johannesburg on this night. Breakfast and Dinner included

Notes
On our safaris, we make use of facilities and accommodation situated inside the Kruger National Park and do not stay outside the Kruger, unless forced to do so because of availability.

We have a permanent camp in Skukuza, which is also where our open game drive vehicles are based. Safaris with accommodation in multiple rest camps are available on request.

It is important to note that this is not a private safari and more than likely there will be other guests joining you on the game drive vehicles, air-conditioned mini bus transfer vehicles as well as in the dining facility.

Please note that sunset game drive times are subject to change and availability on the day. These drives are conducted by SAN PARKS, by one of their rangers and in one of their vehicles. There will most likely be other guests on this drive. Children under 6 years of age are not allowed on SAN Parks open game drive vehicles.

Although we welcome children on our safaris, we reserve the right not to allow younger children on our normal game drives. This will be entirely up to the guide's discretion and will be in order to ensure a pleasurable game drive for all our guests (including the parents). Should this be the case, a bush bumble (kiddies game drive) will be conducted after the normal game drive, especially for the kids. We do not offer babysitting and as such one of the parents will have to stay behind to watch the children. Private game drives for families can be arranged at an extra charge.

Guests flying out of OR Tambo Airport on the last day are reminded to not book any flights earlier than 19h00 (domestic) or 20h00 (international) in order to give us enough time to get you to the airport. We recommend that you rather stay over in Johannesburg if possible. Since we cannot guarantee our arrival time in Johannesburg on the last day we will not be held responsible for re-imbursements of flight tickets, should we arrive later than expected. Guests flying out of Nelspruit on the last day may, depending on their flight details, not have enough time to see the Panorama Route. Private transfers for guests with early flights can be arranged in advance at an extra charge.
